The object
Munkebjerg Hotel sits in forest above Vejle Fjord. The English site dates the first house to 1880 and the present pampering format to 1967. It publishes 158 rooms, 21 meeting rooms, three restaurants, a lobby bar, wine cellar, wellness and Casino Munkebjerg. This is the resort card in the dossier: terrace, trees, a drive from the E45 rather than a metro exit.
Norwegian readers who drive the E45 often treat Vejle as a pause rather than a capital. The hotel’s own copy is about the plateau, the spa and the meeting rooms. We follow that inventory. We do not invent a numeric guest score or a table-count for the casino floor.
Location
Munkebjergvej 125, 7100 Vejle. The hotel says it is a seven-minute drive from the E45 and about 8.5 km from Vejle centre. Route 18T and taxis are described for guests without a car. Free parking is listed at around 500 spaces.
Rooms and accommodation
The hotel publishes 158 rooms. Check-in 14:30; check-out 10:30 weekdays and 11:00 at weekends, per the FAQ. Rooms are non-smoking. Pets are allowed in selected rooms with a cleaning supplement. We do not quote nightly rates.
Amenities and services
21 meeting rooms. Pool, spa baths, steam and sauna are free for in-house guests; the hotel publishes opening 06:00–22:00, with 11:00–16:30 reserved for ages 16+. Fitness is listed 04:00–24:00, in a separate hotel area — ask reception. Free parking is listed at around 500 spaces. Wine cellar is named on the hotel site.
Restaurants and bars
Named restaurants: Panorama, Jackpot (in the casino), Treetop gourmet room, plus lunch service and a lobby bar. Jackpot Restaurant publishes Monday–Thursday 19:00–04:00 and Friday–Sunday 18:00–04:00 (kitchen closes earlier). Confirm reservations on munkebjerg.dk. We do not reprint menu prices.
Entertainment
The hotel’s own copy is about the plateau, spa, terrace and meeting rooms. We have not sourced an in-house cabaret calendar separate from the casino evening. Tennis and a small hotel golf/krolf course are listed as on-site sport.

Casino information
Spillemyndigheden lists Casino Munkebjerg Vejle at Munkebjergvej 125 — inside the hotel. Stay pages state that an overnight can include casino entry. Jackpot Restaurant sits in open continuation of the machines and bar, so the restaurant door is a casino door. Confirm live hours the week you travel; we do not treat a frozen timetable as a promise.
Casino history
The hotel’s about page places Casino Munkebjerg’s opening on New Year’s Eve in the 1990 sequence of works, after the Fjordsalen addition. A 2000–2001 renovation is described: machines moved closer to the entrance, and Jackpot Restaurant added with a fjord view. Hotel history (1880 house, 1967 present format) is not the same sentence as the casino licence.
Casino features
The hotel describes a casino evening in the same resort as spa and terrace, with Jackpot Restaurant in the play area. We do not reprint unpublished table maps or machine counts. The forest setting does not change Danish law.
Visiting rules
Hotel stay pages state casino entry for guests 18+ with picture ID. Because Jackpot Restaurant continues the casino floor, the same 18+ rule applies there. A wellness afternoon and a casino evening are two different rooms in the same house. Ticket details belong to the hotel or operator the week you go.

Casino and Jackpot Restaurant: 18+, photo ID. Children may stay in rooms under hotel policy; they do not enter the casino. Spa age windows (16+ mid-day) are a hotel rule, not a casino rule.
