1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site can store on your device. Browsers also offer similar tools such as localStorage, which this desk uses for language and for the answer you gave the cookie banner. A session cookie dies when you close the browser. A persistent value stays until you clear site data, until it expires, or until the site overwrites it.
None of these tools are required for you to read a review. They exist so a bilingual site can remain in English or Norwegian on the next visit, and so we do not ask the same consent question on every page load. They are not casino chips, not booking tokens, and not a way for us to see which table you played in Helsingør.
2. Who sets them
Nordisk Inspirasjon AS sets first-party storage on nordiskinspirasjon.com. That storage is limited to the keys named below. We do not run a maze of unnamed marketing pixels on our own origin. If we add a new first-party cookie, this page will name it.
Third parties set their own cookies when you load their code. A Google Maps iframe can set Google cookies as soon as the map paints. Hotel engines, Booking.com, Spillemyndigheden, Lotteritilsynet, ROFUS, StopSpillet and Hjelpelinjen set cookies only after you click through. We do not wrap those destinations in our banner, because we cannot control a banner on a domain we do not operate.
3. Necessary cookies
Two localStorage keys are necessary for this site to work as a bilingual editorial desk. ni-lang stores en or no so headings, forms and legal pages stay in the language you chose. ni-cookies stores whether you have answered the banner (necessary only, or analytics allowed) so the bar does not cover the page on every click.
Those values do not advertise rooms, do not retarget you on other sites, and do not tell a casino that you read a review. If you block all storage, the site still renders, but it may forget language and may show the banner again. That is a browser choice, not a penalty we invent.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are optional. They stay off until you choose “Allow analytics”. “Necessary only” is the default path if you dismiss the extra permission. We will not quietly flip analytics on because you scrolled, because you opened a hotel page, or because you switched language.
If we later connect a statistics product, it will run only with that consent and will be named on this page. Until a product is named, allowing analytics is still not a licence for us to install an undeclared tracker. You can withdraw by clearing this origin’s site data and choosing necessary only the next time the banner appears.
5. Maps and embeds
Some reviews include a map so a Norwegian itinerary can see the street, not only a hotel name. That embed is Google Maps. When the iframe loads, Google may set cookies, read your IP address, and apply Google’s own cookie policy. Loading the map is a choice to use Google’s service in that tab.
You can still use the dossier without the map: every hotel page prints the licensed street address in text. If you refuse third-party cookies in the browser, the map may fail or may prompt you again. We do not proxy Google’s cookies through our banner, and we do not claim that refusing our analytics also blocks Google on an embed you chose to load.
6. Outbound booking sites
Buttons that say Check availability, Official hotel or Book open a third-party site: the operator’s own engine, and in some cases a named booking platform. Those sites set cookies under their own policies. Our “necessary only” choice does not travel with you. Their banner, their login, their payment page are not ours.
A click-through is not a booking we make. It is a door. Read the cookie notice on that door before you store a card. We do not receive a copy of the cookies those engines set, and we cannot delete them from this page.
7. Duration
ni-lang and ni-cookies persist in localStorage until you clear them or until a future version of the site writes a new value. They do not carry a marketing expiry date because they are not marketing cookies. If we replace the storage model, we will describe the new duration here.
Third-party durations — Google Maps, hotel groups, Booking.com, help lines, regulators — follow those vendors. Some last for a session, some for months. We do not copy their tables into this policy, because they change without writing to Bergen. Check the destination if you need a precise clock.
8. Legal basis
Necessary language and consent storage is based on our legitimate interest in a usable bilingual site that remembers you already answered the banner. That interest is narrow: the site should not reset to English on every click if you asked for Norwegian, and it should not trap the footer under a banner you already dismissed.
Analytics cookies and any other non-essential third-party cookies we might add later are based on consent. You can read every review, send a form, and use official booking links without granting analytics. Consent is not a condition of entry to the dossier.
9. How to control cookies
Use the banner on this site for our first-party choice. Use your browser’s site settings to delete localStorage and cookies for nordiskinspirasjon.com. Use the browser’s third-party cookie controls if you want to limit Google Maps or other embeds. Industry opt-out tools on other sites do not automatically rewrite ni-lang.
Blocking all cookies may break language memory and may make the banner return. That is expected. It is not a defect we will “fix” by forcing storage back on. If you need the legal pages in Norwegian after a clear, press NO again; the switch writes ni-lang once more.
10. Do not sell
We do not sell personal information. We do not trade a list of form addresses for hotel ads. Optional analytics, if enabled, is for understanding which reviews are read — Copenhagen versus Vejle, English versus Norwegian — not for selling a gambling audience to a third party.
Outbound booking links may involve commercial relationships on the destination site. Those relationships are the destination’s. They do not convert our cookie banner into a sale of your ni-lang value.
11. Independent resource
nordiskinspirasjon.com is an independent review resource. It may contain links to third-party booking services. Cookies on those services belong to those services. A copper button that leaves this origin is not a Nordisk Inspirasjon cookie by another name.
Hotel and casino operators, and the Danish and Norwegian authorities we cite, are not our processors for their own sites. We cannot see whether you accepted a hotel’s analytics after you booked. Do not write to us to delete a cookie on radissonhotels.com; write to that controller.
12. Updates
We will revise this page if we add a new cookie, a new localStorage key, a new embed, or a named analytics product. The date below is the latest text we have published. A material change will be written in sentences, not hidden as a version number in the footer.
Check this page when you next care about storage, not only when a banner reappears. If we have not added tools, the list above remains the list. We will not invent a cookie in copy that the site does not set.
13. Contact
Questions about storage on this origin go to contact@nordiskinspirasjon.com. The company address is Kanalveien 7, 5068 Bergen, Norge. Describe the browser and whether you chose necessary only or allow analytics, so we are not guessing which key you mean.
A cookie question is not a room reservation. If you wanted a stay, use the official booker on the hotel page. If you wanted a privacy right under the GDPR, the Privacy Policy explains access and erasure for form data as well as storage.
14. Authority
You may contact Datatilsynet in Norway about cookie consent and tracking. This page is not legal advice and is not a Datatilsynet form. It describes our current storage practice on nordiskinspirasjon.com: two first-party keys, optional analytics behind a button, maps and booking engines as third parties you open yourself.
If an authority asks us to change a default, we will change the site and then this text. Until then, the banner’s two buttons are the whole first-party menu. There is no third hidden slider.
15. After you leave
Cookie choices on this site do not travel to hotels, casinos or regulators. After you click Check availability, those operators apply their own banners, their own logins and their own payment cookies. Our ni-cookies value cannot opt you out of a hotel group’s tracker.
Treat each new tab as a new controller. That is inconvenient. It is also honest. An independent review desk can remember your language. It cannot remember your consent for the entire Danish hotel sector.
